TOPO2016 starts next week!

Dear TOPO2016 participants,

we are looking forward to meet you all in person next week at the TOPO2016 workshop in Dresden. The program can be retrieved through this link:

Please be aware of the following issues:

* On Tuesday 16th of August 2016, both the registration and welcome reception will take place in the building “Beyer-Bau”, room 103 (Atelier), while all the scientific sessions starting by Wednesday morning (August 17 – 19) will be held in the building tagged: “Recknagel-Bau”, room C213. Please visit the venue subpage for the respective google maps and campus navigator links to the two different locations:

* A free weekly season ticket for the Dresden public transport will be provided for each participant that allows you to hop-on or off from any street car or bus. You will receive this ticket when checking in to the conference at the registration desk.

* For poster presenters, only: power strips will be provided by the organizers.

Special AFM workshop by Oxford Instruments

Hi all,

we are happy to announce that you have the possibility to join live measurements with hands-on sessions on the Asylum Research Cypher S system at the TOPO2016. The AFM workshop will take place on Tuesday, August  16th, from 10.00 am until 6.00 pm (right before the welcome party) at the TU Dresden campus (Beyer-Bau, room S29).

To respond everyone’s questions and needs properly, there will be groups of max. five people, according to this preliminary schedule:

10.00 am – 11.30 am
11.30 am – 1.00 pm
2.00 pm – 3.30 pm
3.30 pm – 5.00 pm

Please contact Florian Johann or Christian Wichmann from Oxford Instruments for your favorite time slot and further details, especially if you want to bring your own samples or run particular modes like Piezoresponse Force Microscopy (PFM), Magnetic Force Microscopy (MFM), Conductive Atomic Force Microscopy (CFM), Kelvin Probe Force Microscopy (KPFM) or Electrostatic Force Microscopy (EFM).

 

Announcement of excursion details

Exploring some of the architectural and scenic treasures of Dresden, we plan to close our workshop on August 19th with an exclusive excursion, which will begin at 04:30 p.m.

Starting with a guided tour through the historical old town, we are going to explore the treasure chambers of the “Green Vault” („Grünes Gewölbe“), being located in Dresdens Royal Palace. The excursion will take approximately 3 hours.
